There’s nothing wrong with a good bargain. However, not every bargain is always a “good” bargain. A buyer haggles over the price, saying, “it’s worthless,” then brags about getting a bargain. “It is naught, it is naught, saith the buyer: but when he is gone his way, then he boasteth”
The new 410A environmentally friendly refrigerants operate at double the pressure of the old R22. The oil used is hydroscopic, meaning it absorbs moisture readily. Moisture is the enemy to the internal function of an HVAC system. While R22 required a 500-micron vacuum, the 410A requires a 300-micron vacuum. The deeper, longer vacuum requires equipment capable of handling the job. If the appropriate vacuum is not achieved, the system will run and act the same, but the lifespan of the equipment will diminish significantly.
